yes, ella had her 6-week check up today. neela just called me to give me the 411 ('cause i'm at work, not able to attend baby's doctor appointments-wah). ella is doing great!!
she is in the 75 percentile for height, weight, and head circumference!! she weighs 10 lbs 15.5 ounces (basically, 11 pounds!), she is 22.5 inches long, and her head circumference is 15 inches! yay! i don't know why, but this makes us very proud mommies!!
apparently the nurses and doctors were all ooing and ahing over ella, calling her a "poster-baby" and stuff!
speaking of proud mommies, we sure got some external validation from total strangers yesterday! we had lunch with neela's friend janne and so many people kept coming up to tell us how adorable ella is. especially funny was this young woman who came up to me as i was packing ell up in her car seat to go. she was all "i've been watching your baby all through lunch - she is so beautiful!! how old is she? what's her name? ooo, i love that name. oh she's so good and ... blahblahblah" then she turned to her boyfriend/husband/significant other and said "that's what i want!" he kind of shrugged and said "w... okay" then came dutifully over to look at ella , then shrugged again and said "cute baby."
tonight we're having din-din with catherine and chloé and scott and cindy and their brood! that's it for now.
