well, ell had her first doctor's appointment today. she did great. she was quiet and cute and impressed all the doctors and nurses. we were sad that nurse natalie wasn't there today, as she was our favourite all thru the pregnancy, but i guess she'll meet ella on her six week check up.
she got an A+ on her check up too. (i'm kidding about this - they don't really give grades!) they checked her heart, lungs, eyes, nose, ears, hands, feet, bottom, and so on. all good. ell's gained a pound and a half in her short 19 days of life! so she now weighs 9 lbs 3 ounces! and she's grown an inch longer! she's in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. our baby is so average...
after the doctor mommy couldn't stand the thought of being cooped up at home again so we went to auntie lisa's house for the evening. ella and sara haven't really become friends yet, mainly because ell doesn't seem to be aware of sara's existence, but i'm sure this will change soon enough!
the other day ell had quite the adventure - she spent an entire afternoon at the WEM with her two mommies, her grandma karin and grandpa, her auntie lisa and cousin sara. yes, it was quite the crew, moving at a snail's pace through the largest mall in the world. grandma karin wouldn't let ell ride the roller coaster... bummer.
i couldn't help but feel like i was having a bueler or something that day. somehow being off on parental leave at home, sleep-deprived and in my pjs, seems fine, while being out having fun, shopping, in public, somehow feels like playing hooky.
